Cookie policy

Version: cookies-2026-10-30 · Last updated: 30 October 2026

In effect from: 30 October 2026.

This policy exists in Hungarian and English. If the two versions differ, the Hungarian version prevails.

In short: the Oxilys website (oxilys.app) uses no cookies. It saves one small setting in your browser’s local storage, and only if you answer the “Read in English?” suggestion. If you do not answer it, nothing is saved.

This policy covers only the website oxilys.app. The Oxilys app (app.oxilys.app) is covered by its own privacy notice and terms, which you receive with your app account; they describe what the app stores in your browser.

Cookies

This website places no cookies on your device. It has no analytics, tracking code, ads, social media buttons, third-party fonts or embedded content. Serving the site involves no cookies either: there is no login, no session and no A/B testing, and the server sends no cookie to your browser.

What it saves in your browser

If your browser’s language is not Hungarian, the Hungarian pages show a “Read in English?” suggestion. When you press either of its buttons (switch to English, or close it), the site notes this in one entry in your browser’s local storage, so that the suggestion does not appear again.

  • Name: oxilys.langSuggest.dismissed
  • Value: 1 (it only means you have answered the suggestion)
  • When it is created: only when you press one of the suggestion’s buttons
  • How long it stays: until you clear this site’s data in your browser; it has no expiry date. Not because we want to track anything: the entry is a single flag that identifies no one and goes nowhere; without an expiry, all that happens is that the suggestion does not come back.
  • Who can read it: only this website, in your browser; it is not sent to us or to any third party. The site’s security settings prevent the page from sending anything from your browser to anyone other than the hosting provider.
  • What happens without it: the site works exactly the same; the only difference is that the suggestion may appear again.

Why we do not ask for consent

As a rule, information may be stored on your device only with your consent, given after clear and complete information (section 155(4) of Hungary’s Electronic Communications Act, Act C of 2003, which implements Article 5(3) of the EU ePrivacy Directive). The rule covers the browser’s local storage as well as cookies; that is why this one entry is described here.

The Directive does not require consent for storage that is strictly necessary for a service you have explicitly asked for. Opinion 04/2012 of the EU data protection authorities’ joint body (the Article 29 Working Party, today the European Data Protection Board) counts remembering a user-interface preference you set among these cases.

This entry is exactly that. You ask for it: it is created only when you press a button. Its only purpose is what you asked for: not to show the suggestion again. We use it for nothing else, link it to nothing, and it never reaches us. That is why the site has no cookie banner or consent pop-up; this page, linked from the footer of every page, is the information about the setting. On its own, the entry is not personal data: it does not identify you, and we do not send it anywhere.

How to delete it

You can delete it at any time by clearing the site data for oxilys.app in your browser’s settings (in most browsers: Settings → Privacy → Site data, or Cookies and site data → oxilys.app → delete). The suggestion may then appear again. If your browser blocks local storage (in private mode, for example, or in some in-app browsers), the site works the same; the suggestion may simply appear on every visit.

If the website ever starts using other storage or cookies, we will update this page first and publish it with a new version number. If the new storage needs your consent, we will ask before using it, and start it only after you say yes.
